In the departures area of the passenger terminal at Ruđer Bošković Airport, an exhibition of artistic glassworks titled Mediterranean Connections has been opened.

The exhibition features works by the multidisciplinary glass studio LONCA from Turkey, specializing in hand-blown artistic glass made using traditional techniques, and Bokart Glass Studio, Croatia’s leading studio for decorative and architectural art glass, whose projects include stained glass, fused glass, and restoration of historical glass elements.

Mediterranean Connections celebrates the timeless beauty and innovation of glass—as both a functional material and a medium of artistic expression—and will be on display at Ruđer Bošković Airport until the end of October.

The featured artists are: Mert Üngör, Jeronim Tišljar, Petar Dolić, and Robert Mijalić.

The exhibition is organized in collaboration between the Consulate General of the Republic of Croatia in Istanbul and Ruđer Bošković Airport, and was previously displayed during the summer months at Zagreb International Airport.

“It is a great honor to host the Mediterranean Connections exhibition at Ruđer Bošković Airport. This exceptional collection celebrates the diversity and richness of Mediterranean culture through a unique fusion of artistic glassworks by Croatian and Turkish authors. The exhibition not only represents a cultural dialogue between the two countries, but also enriches the experience of every traveler, transforming a passage through the airport into an encounter with art,” stated representatives from Ruđer Bošković Airport.

The Consul General of the Republic of Croatia in Istanbul, Mrs. Ivana Zerec, expressed her gratitude to Ruđer Bošković International Airport for the collaboration, emphasizing that the Mediterranean Connections exhibition symbolizes a bridge between cultures and affirms the enduring ties and creative spirit of Croatia and Turkey as Mediterranean nations.
