Swiss International Air Lines has officially launched its new seasonal route between Zurich and Dubrovnik, with the first flight landing at Ruđer Bošković Airport on April 17. The aircraft was greeted with a traditional water salute, followed by a symbolic photo session with the Swiss team, marking the return of this esteemed airline to Dubrovnik’s aviation map.
The inaugural flight was welcomed with great enthusiasm by both Swiss representatives and officials from Ruđer Bošković Airport. This new route further positions Dubrovnik as a key destination in European air travel, opening the “Gate of Dubrovnik” to an even larger number of passengers. Its return marks an important step in the continued expansion of the destination network and the enhancement of the passenger experience at Ruđer Bošković Airport. As part of the summer flight schedule, Swiss International Air Lines will connect Dubrovnik and Zurich up to five times a week, offering passengers greater flexibility and easier access to this major European air hub. During the summer season, Ruđer Bošković Airport is connected to more than 40 airlines, linking Dubrovnik with nearly 70 international destinations.
In addition to the new Swiss International Air Lines route, the summer flight schedule brings several other significant updates and expansions. The most notable increase comes from United Airlines, which will operate daily flights between Dubrovnik and New York from early May through late September, reducing to four flights per week in October. Airlines such as Air France, KLM, Turkish Airlines, Austrian Airlines, easyJet, and others are also planning capacity increases for the summer season.
Alongside the strengthening of existing routes, the introduction of new airlines and destinations further enriches the offerings at Ruđer Bošković Airport. Ryanair has launched three new routes—to Gothenburg, Katowice, and Marseille—while easyJet has launched a new route to Bordeaux from Dubrovnik.
